Mission class escape: A foolish accomplishment

I was so bored in college today. From the first class itself, I felt like this. Thoughts about bunking the next two classes have been rising high. I stayed in class for two hours. The bunking thought didn’t make me sit quietly all the time of two hours. It is too hard to bunk a class in our college as it is equipped with cc cameras all over the building even at each stair’s steps. Our director sir will be watching our activity on his computer monitor. So I was worried to go alone. I was looking for someone else to accompany me on the mission. Finally, I found my friend thinking about the same I did for two hours. Finally, with a single book in both of our hands, we could manage to escape the class very skillfully.

We sat near a table in the canteen and ordered two plates of ‘bonds’. We hoped everything is alright. My friend who came along with me filled me up with courage that no one could come here even by a chance. Though he gave me such courage, my sixth sense was warning me about something. It never failed and didn’t fail this time also. Our director sir saw us, coming from his home upstairs the canteen. We had no words to say and no reactions to perform. I just stunned like a zombie. My friend started to show his mock illness. I followed him doing so. How would a director of an engineering college fall for these cheap pranks? He started shouting at us( including others in the canteen). Somehow we ran from there in seconds. We’re damn lucky at that time why because he didn’t beat us. He used to slap students when he gets high levels of anger.

We have no idea where to hide from being caught. Once we had a library to hide, but CCTV cameras were set up there also. We got an idea, the hostel, yes! the hostel is the safest place. To go to the hostel we have to go out of campus leaving our ID cards at watchmen. It’s not a problem if watchmen won’t be giving ‘em to our HOD. But the hostel is the only place to hide. So we dared to go leaving our ID cards at watchmen telling them that we would be returning soon after lunch. it’s not even 12:30, the clock is still one and a half hours away to tick lunchtime. Anyway, we went to the hostel and everything is thought to be ok. But there is no known person in hostel rooms. We afraid if we could be accused of unknown threats that happen at that time. So we came back to college.

We decided that we would be caught by PD by the next ten minutes. All opportunities are closed. We somehow reached the bathroom, yes! you read the right word, the bathroom. One can observe what’s happening in the classes and the corridors from the bathroom as it is located on the third floor. Our classroom is also located on the third floor. So the bathroom became our secret hostage. How to spend another fifty minutes? who spends in the bathroom for almost an hour?. This was embarrassing for us at that time. To pass the time, we pissed off in the toilets more than five or six times by then. Staying in the bathrooms hiding sucks because if someone passes that way talking the sound resonates in the bathroom. Every voice frightened us that passed through.

We couldn’t stay there for a minute more. So we walked out of the bathroom and pretended as if we were going to class as usual. We walked to the stairs and stopped there for a second. An idea lighten up in my mind and we climbed the steps and decided to settle there. If we could get through the locked door, we would be on the terrace of the building. But we didn’t think much about the doorway. We just sat there in such a quiet and calm way looking at the clock. Almost twenty minutes left for the lunch bell. We used whispering to talk. The sounds of the footsteps and the voice of PD were well audible to us. So we stayed there like a sleeping cat. Finally, the lunch bell rang. We are free now but we should expertly get down the steps, if someone sees I’m sure they would laugh at us.

Everything is fine out there and we walked like kings to our class. We found no one in the class except a few girls. We asked them about the previous classes and they said that no one took the class last hour. We feel like punching our faces at that time. We looked at each other laughed. After we completed our lunch and when the afternoon session about to start, one of our friends from the hostel asked us about the previous classes. We asked him in turn where he was at that time. He said that he left the class after the interval, went to the hostel, and slept. We again looked at each other and felt like punching each other’s faces this time.

We then decided not to escape from the class and we got to know that bearing a ‘boring lecture is much better than hiding ourselves from being caught’. Thank god! we didn’t get caught.
